I must admit this is a little nerve wracking, but I wanted to do something that would stimulate me to write everyday and hopefully make some kind of sense (just in case anyone reads it)!
I had an appointment at a hospital in London today, which isn't ordinarily too horrific but it was compounded by the fact I had left my latest read at work yesterday! This did traumatise me somewhat but I was far to lazy to negotiate the traffic back to work when I was already halfway home. Instead I contented myself with the latest copy of Public Eye. There was a great book review of "Flat Earth News" the latest offering of Nick Davies. I found the article very interesting as I work in the newspaper industry and am fascinated by the corruption that goes on in order to get the story before the competition snaps it up. It's published next month and I'll be sure to buy it. That is if I can smuggle yet another book through the door and past my husband. He will inevitable be the one who has to hoist that and many other books up into the loft because I can't stand to part with them!
I'm currently reading Theft: a love story by Peter Carey. This is the first novel of Carey's that I have come across and I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. I got the 'tip' from the Book Show on Sky Arts and although it wasn't the one recommended I think I will go on to read more of Carey's work.
I have just been signed off work for a week and hope to get loads of reading and blogging done!
